Earthbag Building

Posted by Salah Hammad about 1 year ago

an experience in earthbag building , affordable, sustainable, fun and easy !

Lately I've been helping Nicole and Nick in building a cubby house (military fortress) for the kids in their backyard, out of  sand, gravel, clay, and bags !

It is such an interesting building method, because 1st of all, its fun, well it is tiring, but because you are working with a group of people, meeting new community members all the time it makes enjoyable and fun!

If you are a DIY sort of person, this is the project you want to start. Its an easy building technique that you can master by the end of your project, because you learn while building, a lot of resources are available online and a lot of books have been published about it.

Cost wise, it can't get more affordable than this! Earth (Dirt) though its the most important ingredient in the making of our civilization , dirt is the cheapest ingredient in building.

Labour wise, community interest in learning earthbag building and helping fellow community members saves a lot of labour cost, builds new friendships and experiences that will be applied

in different neighbourhoods and maybe even countries!

Durable, sustainable, affordable, natural, simple, and fun!

Nicole, Nick and Tim , thanks !
