Legend of Badges
Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |

Collective farm project near Perth, Western Australia
Project Type
Rural, Residential, Intentional CommunitiesProject Summary
A Permaculture farm community from the very beginning - looking for people to collectively purchase some land near Perth and start our own Permaculture project.
Project Description
I'm looking for people who might be interested in purchasing a rural
property suitable for subdivision - not to share a title, but to buy a
property and pay for it to be subdivided (Although i will consider
alternative models).
I have $40,000 and am looking for 3 to 5 other parties to come up with something similar (say, $20,000-40,000).
We would all have our own land and could do with what we wanted, but the
ideal would be for people who are interested in farming cooperatively,
or allowing the others to utilise the space if you were just interested
in a place to getaway to occasionally, rather than reside. I would also
like to offer some of the space for Landshare projects for people from the city.
I am keen on land to the east of Perth (as its cheaper than down south
and I'm up for the drylands challenge) but not too far out. I really
like the western side of Beverley shire just over the Darling escarpment
(Westdale region and surrounds). The land here is affordable, some is
sub-dividable, its close to Perth (so people will hopefully visit and
share the space), and has good potential for mixed use, intensive,
drylands Permaculture farming. I am open to suggestion of other regions as well.
Get in touch if you are interested and would like to discuss it further.
If you have land to offer for purchase, please also get in touch
