About Nicole Vosper
Completed the PDC in 2010 and am now currently enrolled on the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design. I see permaculture as a necessary extension of my lifelong passion for ecological justice, animal and human rights.
About Me:
Left home at 16 and worked full time in a grassroots capacity organising around animal, environmental and social justice issues. A fairly colourful history led me to prison, where I worked as a gardener and received a grant to complete the Permaculture Design Course via distance learning. Its inherent practicality and down-to-earth results just 'made sense' and its been no turning back ever since.
Current projects include:
+ Practical implementation of permaculture principles at own smallholding in Somerset
+ Working with Somerset Community Food, a local charity, developing a stronger local food infrastructure to support people in community food projects such as CSAs, allotments, gardens and so forth.
+ Running a permaculture blog for Positive News, international publication detailing positive social and environmental news.
+ Linking permaculture to wider social and ecological resistance movements and exploring the role permaculture has in redesigning our social relations.
+ Ecological literacy - where to start with my generation who can name thousands of corporate logos but barely 10 native plants.
+ Other key interests include bioregional herbal medicine resilience and resources, water security, ecological restoration, people care, rewilding, forest gardening and broader-scale sustainable agriculture.
