Gardened all my life, in a casual backyard way. Actually worked on an organic permaculture small-holding in the back-country of Indonesia before I ever heard the word permaculture. Firm believer in fixing things ourselves and the inability of my centralized government of a large continent to legislate solutions for local needs. Took my PDC with Ethan Roland and others in 2009.

Came to permaculture from the wilderness awareness/primitive skills movement. Seems they have something to offer each other - permaculture has great practical skills and wilderness awareness - as I've experienced it - has great people-meshing and peacemaking skills.

Mostly, I'm interested in creating a new culture that supports the development of whole human beings. Each baby is born with the potential to be a visionary - and our current systems crush that spirit in favor of making salesmen and computer programmers. I see permaculture as a practical way forward toward supplying our own needs without relying on the slave economy. So, practically,
I'm building a permaculture design/ nursery business on land which will (but doesn't yet) supply my food needs as well as allow me to sell to local markets. Looking for collaborators in the design process, as I find that so much more satisfying. Still a newbie, so starting with small projects/properties. And dreaming of living in a wilderness awareness/permaculture based community.
