My name is Wen Rolland and I am an ecological system designer and permaculture enthusiast, especially in cold climates. I live in zone 4 of the Laurentians in Quebec, Canada. I am also very interested in urban and suburban agriculture.

I became naturally interested in permaculture, seeing that options in agriculture and horticulture were very limited and did not provide a philosophical and technological framework for ecological design.

I am the head gardener in a community garden which gives training in ecological gardening and aims at food sovereignty for our volunteers. I do a lot of experimentation. The garden is off the grid and last year, we tried the Jean Pain method to provide hot water for our shower and washing needs from composting tree residues, with great success.

Mon nom est Wen Rolland et je suis designer en systèmes écologiques et passionné de la Permaculture, particulièrement en climat froid. J'habite en zone 4 dans les Laurentides au Québec, Canada. Je suis aussi très intéressé par l'agriculture urbaine et de banlieue.

Je suis chef jardinier dans un jardin collectif qui a pour objectif la formation en jardinage écologique et la souveraineté alimentaire de nos bénévoles. Je fais beaucoup d'expérimentations. Mon jardin n'a pas l'électricité et l'année dernière, nous avons essayé la méthode de Jean Pain afin de fournir de l'eau chaude pour notre douche et le lavage à partir du compostage des résidus d'arbres, avec beaucoup de succès.
