I was a nurse, but a broke single mother who happened to get my hands on aa beautiful piece of land in Hawaii. I had to build a house from no money and found cob...so I built my home with kids, and self taught myself the skill of farming, and land use. I searched for training programs, but found them either totally lacking, or expensive, and the more I looked, I decided to educate myself in sustainable development, incuding my medical, natural building, human rights, equitible business, community development, emergency Disaster Management, and passive systems. I started with philosophy, and Political Science, then increased my Nursing, and Anthropology, and Emergency Disaster Management as undergraduate studies in the United States.
My Goal was to learn how to mitigate a very terriable future for humanity in resource conflict, shortage, famines, economic collapse, cultural language and custom loss, environmental disasters and destruction, and a basic future I could not and do not accept to leave to my children.
The best way I have decided to take action is through educational programs, sustainable urban community development, and global human rights and commons management through direct democracy. I would also like to start a new currency system based on phosphorus as the standard, but this concept is early in the process, and needs a lot of assistance and increased focus.
I believe permaculture requires human rights, just economies, sustainable lifestyles, cultural diversity and unity, and environmental stewardship.
