About Richard Telford
Richard is a permaculture designer, graphic artist and 'do-it-yourselfer', who lives and works from his owner-built home in Seymour, Central Victoria, Australia.
In 1996 he hit the road in his Kombi, spending five years travelling Australia, where he discovered permaculture and intentional community, living at Carters Road Community for two years. Further travels overseas and another stint in the city eventually led to five year residency at Commonground, an intentional community and venue for social changes groups near Seymour.
His background in advertising has been put to good use, developing the design principle icons for David’s book ‘Permaculture: Principles and Pathways Beyond Sustainability’ which has developed into the 'permaculture principles' website that he founded and manages. Other publications have followed, including Holmgren’s eBooks, the Principles Teaching Kit, Permaculture Calendar and Diary.
With his partner Kunie and two young boys they live a low impact life in their suburban home called 'Abdallah House', inspiring others by demonstrating what is possible on a small block.
