About Zaia Kendall
Zaia Kendall has avidly researched alternative living, building, sustainability, self reliance, nutrition and health for the last 15 years, but it wasn't until she partnered with Tom Kendall, her husband, that it was put into practice. They established Kin Kin SOULS, a permaculture demonstration site, in the Noosa Hinterland, where Tom started to run Introduction to Permaculture and PDC courses. Zaia was finally able to take time out to do a PDC with Tom in August 2011. Zaia and Tom are now running the Permaculture Research Institute Sunshine Coast.
Tom and Zaia are working to become as self reliant as possible by reducing input from external sources. Zaia enjoys writing articles about projects at Kin Kin SOULS and PRI Sunshine Coast and assists Tom in administration and the garden. She is also a musician and runs percussion workshops and classes with a focus on melodic percussion (marimba), writes her own music and is active in community events.

Saturday morning breakfast
Saturday is a special day for us: it is our only day off in the week and we like it being a family day. That is why I like making a nice pancake breakfast on Saturdays. This week's breakfast was created mainly with homegrown and locally grown ingredients.
