About Marc Van Hummelen
I first came in contact with permaculture in the early nineties and started reading "Tuinen van Overvloed" by Fransje De Waard, still an important reference book in the dutch speaking world. It took me many years since then to start practicing all I had learned.
Now I work in a forest and I have a big garden in which I plan to create a forest garden. Thanks to the permaculture course I recently took, I will finally be able to get started. Hopefully I will get in contact with all of you guys and learn lots more!

diversity in a democratic school
Why diversity, even in school, is so important.
Diversity
using diversity as 4th ethic principle
embracing local politics
or getting local politicians to embrace change
hedgelaying 1 year later
The hedge is still alive and growing well
to mulch or not to mulch
Is mulching always the answer? What other answers are there?
Portable rocket cooker
I took some photos of the making process of a simple rocket stove and made a DIY guide out of them. Check it out in this post.
Hedgelaying
A great way to rejuvenate an old or neglected hedge and adding functionality to it.
The humanure toilet, "Produce no waste" taken another step further.
A workshop to help people overcome their fear of this valuable resource for their garden, and to show them how to set up a very simple humanure toilet system.
