About John Shiel
Former Civil Engineer, IT Consultant. Have a small Building Ecology business that minimises energy, waste and water in houses, offices, clubs and factories.
I am a former Vice-Chair of Permaculture Hunter, and attended Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton's Melbourne PDC course in 2009.
Researching part-time PhD at Centre for Energy at University of Newcastle.
I am applying permaculture principles to food security (assisting with many PermaBlitzes, and their propogation), and to building refurbishments for zero carbon, publishing my research on building and city sustainability on my business website at www.envirosustain.com.au
