About Summer Singletary
I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and lived just a bike ride away from the bay. I moved to Orlando in 2007 to study at UCF, and will graduate in 2012 with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with a focus in Environmental Studies.
Through my interests in natural healing I found myself at the UCF Arboretum. I was lucky enough to learn how to plant seeds, eat whole foods, and use the medicine from the plants around me. Eventually I met like minded people in the Orlando food justice movement, and was inspired by friends who had studied Permaculture.
I received my Permaculture Design Certificate Summer 2011 in Bolinas, California under Penny Livingston (Regenerative Design Institute) and Robyn Francis (Permaculture College Australia). Currently I am finishing up school, teaching workshops around town, and working part time for an edible landscaping business. I would love to travel in the future, and learn more ways to help heal the world around me.
