About Gerard Worm
Grew up on a dairy farm in Victoria(AU) and left home at 16 years old looking for the answers to life in a tank within the Army, on forklifts, in trucks, at Uni within Medical Bio-technologies, in remote Australia within aboriginal culture, in the mines of WA, NT and while on some time off from a black coal mine in Queensland in August 2011, I found them wrapped in the word 'Permaculture'.
It was a chance internet download of the Bill Mollison video - 'In Grave Danger of Falling Food'. From that moment on I have done nothing more than spend all my waking moments (and some dream time) absorbing, sharing and experiencing permaculture.
I talked with my wife and we decided that I'd quit my 'job'. I immediately volunteered time to the local community permaculture garden as well as teaching kids at school to create and use guilt free compost. I got interested in using fungi to a greater degree within designs, and experimented with edible species cultivation.
I received my PDC on 21st Jan 2012, and was transformed by the energy within the people and the permaculture movement as a whole.
I plan to help grow the movement in any way I can, as quickly as I can.
