About Francisco Amaral
Early on my childhood i had this dream of becoming an amazonian guardian or living in the savanna grasslands in kenya. The wild world outside was calling me.
Ever since, i have this feeling of getting closer to nature in every steps and big decisions i made in my life.
At college i became graduated in enviromental engineering by IST, from Technical University of Lisbon and was when i first had contact with permaculture and transition ideals. It was not a deep contact and neither in the academic context. I was just studying some landscape arquitecture when i cross into it.
Since then, i start to get into Permaculture subjects with more and more interest and by my own.
On 2011 i decided to get the Permaculture Design Certificate with Lesley Anne Martin at Quinta Cabeça do Mato and oficially start my pathway on permaculture. Since then i have been in several permaculture and organic farms as WWOOFer, in some workshops on gardening, and in some eco-building experiences. Recently i've been accepted to be part of a longterm volunteer team at an eco-village project in Portugal.

CanyaViva
Tomorrow will be the first day of the Bioconstruction Course from CanyaViva. So, i would like to give a brief presentation about CanyaViva and the building technique based on the optimum use of bamboo and mediterranean cane.
