About Cecilia Macaulay

Im universally known as 'The Permaculture Fairy', though I can't imagine why.
I've been a Professional Permaculture Designer, teacher and illustrator since 2002. I like to think of myself as 'Permaculture designer to the stars', as my clients include the likes of Richard Branson and Edward de Bono. In fact, my students and customers are mostly mainstreamers, and mostly Japanese.

My most powerful contribution is probably how I get people aware of their huge surplus of talents, knowledge and stuff, and how much fun life becomes when they learn the skills of sharing: asking and offering.

My superpowers and areas of expertise include:

-Whole-systems thinking
-Embodying Permaculture attitudes:positive & generative.
-Edible self-maintaning balconyscapes
-Permaculture for creating beauty
-'Inner Permaculture' for Creative, force-free Communication
-Conflict-free home and share-house design: 'Companion Planting' of people
-Excellent WWOOF hosting
-Japanese Kaizen efficiancy (design principles echo permaculture)
-How to draw gardens to inspire your clients into action
-How to create your first garden.
-Design to make housework and cooking struggle-free and successful.

I am available via Skype, to give light, lively and fun input at your next course.
Please take advantage of this offer.

I need friends and collaborators to help me with:
Editing articles
Book layout
Planning Workshops and Events
Help with P.R. and making the most of media, to spread the word.

Please offer your good help, I can't go far without you.
Don't hesitate to interview me for your own articles.

What David Saw - David Holmgrens visit to my place, Harborside Sydney

This story from my blog the other month, of David Holmgren and Su Denett's visit to my place in Sydney. They are such an inspiration, so fully engaged in the world around them.

Start at your doorstep - John and Laura's Shade-garden makeover, Inner Urban Sydney

"If you want to change the world, start at your back doorstep" said Permaculture's Bill Mollison. Here is the story of how John and Laura turned a shady dirt-patch into a little jewel-box organic garden.

The Year of Living Homelessly gets even better - Permaculture from Harborside East Balmain

I've come to a lovely interlude of my Year of Living Homelessly. Ive found myself house-sitting at a jungle-like home on Sydney Harbor, until mid-September. From here I can catch my breath, write up my Japanese Permaculture adventures, and start finding c
