About Nicolas Netien

My first encounter with Permaculture was in 2005, while travelling in Oz with my jungle brother Phil Rodgers
we knocked on the door of Djanbung Garden in Nimbin NSW (Robin Francis' place) and asked for woofing, she replies that they took only people with a Permaculture background and I asked what is Permaculture? Ended up staying in her place for 2 weeks and got infected!

2 years later I did a PDC in NZ at the Taranaki environment centre with Grifen Hope, Darren Doherty and Joe Polaischer. (2007)

I resigned from sustainable dev/waste management engineer job for local gov in south of France to do an internship at PRI Australia

In my professional life, I have been lately working on community and local democracy development like:
collective composting systems and community gardens
Integrated community based waste management system and reuse/repair centers
alternative transportation
community based local energy production
community based compost and mulching platforms
community based shop and platform for local organic farmers
sustainable land management
water management
etc...

Im now a co-founder of the Permaculture Research Institute of Greece:
