About Nicolas Netien

I was initially trained as an environmental engineer.

My first encounter with Permaculture and Agro-Ecology was in 2005, while traveling in Oz with Phil Rodgers at Robin Francis' place.

A year later I did a PDC in NZ at the Taranaki environment center with Grifen Hope, Darren Doherty and Joe Polaischer.
From then i kept studying Soil Biology, and Agro-Ecology.

In 2010, I resigned from sustainable dev/waste management engineer job for a local gov in south of France to do an internship at PRI Australia

In my professional life, I have been lately working on community and sustainable development like:
collective composting systems and community gardens
Integrated community based waste management system and reuse/repair centers
alternative transportation
renewable energy
Big scale compost and mulching platforms
community based shop and platform for local organic farmers
sustainable land management
water management
etc...

Im a co-founder of the Permaculture Research Institute of Greece

Im now the Manager of Atsas Organic Products, The farm is based in the driest place in Cyprus, semi-arid very degraded landscape we are planting a wide range of species in polyculture, integrated with animal systems using Agro-Ecolgy methods and techniques ; The Place is also designed as a demonstration and education center.
