I read 'Introduction to Permaculture' by Bill Mollison about 7 years ago and have been ruminating over the ideas ever since. I live in a very rural area where I have a 50mx50m piece of land that was allocated to me by the Mbila Zulu tribe in 2009. This land blends into a perfect zone 5, a world herritage site including the largest vegitated dune series in the world.

I founded a N.P.O. (not for profit organisation) called Barefoot Community Works. Our vision is to help our people and environment flourish. We have instilled banana circles in most homesteads in our community and hope to expand that into mini food forests (food forest guilds). We have a creche network and hope to start nursery school gardens that serve as outdoor classrooms.
