About Shawn Tisdell
I love learning, applying my knowledge, teaching, working with a variety of people, sharing the joys of living as we discover more harmonious ways to live within sustainable natural systems.
I grew up on a traditional family dairy farm, received degrees in geology and marine environmental science, worked as an environmental scientist and later as a care provider for adults and children with special needs.
I have also designed and led environmental camps
worked as an environmental educator at a nearby Audubon camp
Taught science classes for homeschooling families
Volunteered at a local science academy to construct an electric generating bicycle
Lead a Natural Step study group,
Taught high school students to construct a greenhouse develop a community garden and teach composting.
Designed and maintained websites for a theater group and a public library
Received Wisconsin Master Garden and Wisconsin Master Composter training
Specialized in the construction of rustic structures using flexible poles, primarily Tamaracks.
Reconstructed and remodeled our home and a small cottage
Experienced with home energy conservation-heating and electrical systems

Towards the middle of January (assuming my farm sells), I will be leaving the states to focus exclusively on permaculture.
