About Soozi van der Linde

Earth-medicine has been a dream of mine since 1996 when I experienced an “awakening”. It has become a vehicle of teaching permaculture and natural medicine and building community.
Credo Mutwa – the High sanusi of Africa once said: The strongest medicine is in the earth – if you know how to get to it”
Permaculture was part of my path in discovering this “medicine” – I have a passion for repairing the earth and healing the people. Permaculture brought together many aspects of this for me, as a system and a lifestyle, where everything is connected.

I have been studying alternative medicine modules since 1997 and completed my training as a Tsangoma in September 2006.

I obtained a PDC in Sept of 2009. I am qualified as a Level 1 carbon footprint analyst (small to med bus). I am registered as an assesor with The Carbon Protocol. www.carbonprotocol.org.

Currently I co-facilitate PDC’s with my husband, Ewald Viljoen, and work as a volunteer project manager/consultant with Food & Trees for Africa.
I attended IPC9 in Malawi in 2009.

I also head up the sustainability Committee for a corporate and am responsible for implementing the environmental & sustainability strategy.

I also practise as a Tsangoma – traditional healer or African shamanic ethno-medicine practitioner.
We intervene with the spirits or ancestors on behalf of the patient or client who is seeking an answer to their current illness or situation.
The work is about balancing the socio-economic and health factors in one’s life – this is done by the use of divination, various ceremonies, prayer and vibrational plant medicines and treatments.
In my lineage we are rainbow light-workers and work with the powers of the elements, plants and animals especially the feminine Mandawe or water/ocean sprits. We aim at cleaning up and healing all vibrations that is not in alignment with your truth and out of balance with nature. We aim to restore your connections to your higher self and Gaia and all the children of mother earth.

Although my training was based in a specific cultural and spiritual context – we connect to a wide range of traditions and other cultures of shamanic work, and follow an integrated path of connection to self, spirit and Gaia and honouring of the elements.
Our strongest medicine is love.
